Tom Fearon

Professional communicator in Canberra

I produce videos as a freelance journalist and communications professional. My skills include interviewing, video editing, writing and voicing scripts, and videography.

Portrait of a Beijinger

In 2014, I collaborated with cinematographer Abel Blanco to produce the short documentary series Portrait of a Beijinger. Profiling ordinary Beijingers with extraordinary stories, each episode includes a written and photographic essay.

The Australian National University

At the ANU College of Asia & the Pacific, I oversaw marketing for more than a dozen language programs. I conceived and implemented digital campaigns supported by video highlighting the student experience and unique attributes of our online and on-campus language programs.

International School of Beijing

I produced, edited, and narrated dozens of videos as a communications specialist at the International School of Beijing (ISB) from 2014 to 2017. Working with multimedia specialist Abel Blanco, our videos demonstrated implementation of ISB's Strategic Plan as well as academic and co-curricular life at the School. See more videos here.

I wrote and voiced scripts for hundreds of news stories as a copy editor at CCTV News, subsequently rebranded as China Global Television Network. See more of my video reports here.
